About George:
Madeline Carr is Professor of Global Politics and Cybersecurity at University College London. She is the Director of the UK-wide Research Institute in Sociotechnical Cyber Security (RISCS) which looks at the human and organizational factors of cybersecurity. Her research focuses on the implications of emerging technology for national and global security, international order, and corporate governance. Professor Carr has published on cyber norms, multi-stakeholder Internet governance, the future of the insurance sector in the IoT, cybersecurity and international law, the public/private partnership in national cyber security strategies, and the ways in which boards approach cyber risk. Her book US Power and the Internet in International Relations is published by Palgrave MacMillan and Professor Carr is the co-editor of a Rowman and Littlefield book series on Digital Technologies and Global Politics.

Jen has been Associate Director and Senior Research Facilitator in the BEAMS Research Coordination Office since 2018. BEAMS covers the Faculties of Built Environment, Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences. Jen joined UCL in 2015 as Strategic Research Facilitator for the Environment Domain, from being Research Coordinator in Newcastle University's Institute for Sustainability. She studied Geography and was awarded her PhD in social impacts and stakeholder dynamics of bioenergy projects in India and Uganda - both at Newcastle. She has also worked as a Research Assistant and Associate, and project managed a multi-million euro European Aid Cooperation funded project. Since joining UCL, she has undertaken secondments to EPSRC on peer review processes, and to Research Services as Business Partner for BEAMS.

About Peter:
Peter Lovell is the Director for the NIHR Research Design Service London. He trained as a medicinal chemist (BSc and PhD) and spent the first 15 years of his career in drug discovery roles in the pharmaceutical industry (Roche and GSK). Peter led multidisciplinary research teams on a wide range of projects targeting antipsychotics, antidepressants and drugs for cognitive enhancement, sleep and bipolar disorders. In 2009 he joined King’s College London and was given responsibility for establishing and leading the new NIHR Research Design Service in London, a service that helps researchers develop high quality research grant applications.
