About Shiroma:
Shiroma is a senior Producer Director and Journalist who makes factual films, mostly for BBC programmes and channels. She has produced films spanning several genres, such as drama, education and consumer programmes but most of her recent films have centered on topics related to future technologies. She has produced work on a wide array of subjects such as misinformation during US and British elections, the manipulation of Wikipedia by nation states, online extremism, the handling of coronavirus by other countries and correcting AI bias and domestic abuse during lock down. Many of the films she has produced have involved the work of academics and part of her role has been to filter out information from academic papers that is most relevant to the subject on which she is focusing. As such she believes it is helpful to continue to develop relationships with academics and realise efficient ways of exchanging information.
