1) How people who have experienced domestic abuse feel about their interactions with the justice system (such as police, courts, family courts, and legal services). 2) What support is available to them during and after legal proceedings, and where are the gaps in support. 3) What factors influence their decision to involve (or not involve) the justice system. 4) How do these experiences affect their mental health and recovery.
You are eligible to take part if:
1) You have experienced domestic abuse 2) Are aged 16 or older 3) Have either: (i) interacted with the justice system (including the family courts) in relation to domestic abuse , or (ii) considered engaging with the justice system (including the family courts) but did not proceed. 4) Are proficient in English 5) Reside in England, Wales, or Scotland.
Please only take part if you are physically and emotionally safe to do so.
How do I take part?
There are two ways to take part - and if you would like to take part in more than one type of activity, you can do.
1) Register your interest to take part in an online focus group. Our upcoming focus group dates are: 29th January 2026 (1-3:00pm) and 2nd February (1-2:30pm). For more information, click here.
